Celebrating April 6 International Day of Sport for Development and Peace through Sport!
To celebrate International Day of Sport for Development and Peace through Sport, ‘April 6 Unity Games’ was organized at University of Tsukuba on the day.
The event aimed to learn 7 the Olympic Values (Excellence, Friendship, Respect) and Paralympic Values (Determination, Courage, Equality, Inspiration) and life skills through sport. Under the mentorship of Dr. James Mandigo (Brock University), student leaders facilitated 7 different fun games, such as blind soccer and sitting volleyball, that are related to the values.
Participants also discussed sport and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and join the social media campaign which was initiated by the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP).
